Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
The Peace of God
Philippians 4:6-7 directs us to do two things…. First, we are not to worry about anything, and second, pray about everything in a spirit of thanksgiving and gratitude. Believing prayer is the cure for worry. We should remember to be thankful for everything God has done for us in the past, what He is doing in the present, and everything He will do in the future. The reward for following these directions will be the Peace of God. The Peace of God is a deeper peace than any other, and it surpasses anything we can imagine.
I keep this verse written on note cards in several different places, because I am a worrier. I can very easily get overwhelmed with worry and anxiety throughout the day. I have to remind myself to pray and not to worry because God is in control. When I look at my life, I see so many things to be grateful for in my past, present, and future. God has always provided for me, and He always will! Praying and remembering to be grateful for everything that I have truly does bring me peace like nothing else does.
What do you worry about? Have you prayed about it and believed that God is in control and He has a plan for your life that will surpass anything you could ever imagine? What do you have to be grateful for?
Take the time to meditate on this verse today, and apply it to your everyday life. I guarantee you will worry less and notice more to be grateful for!
